Miracle On Ice
Thirty-two years ago, a bunch of amateur and college kids defeated what was then considered the best hockey team in the world at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York. The U.S. hockey team scored two goals in the third period to give them a 4-3 lead, a lead that would remain unchanged as the clock ran out. The home team’s victory was so improbable that sportscaster Al Michaels famously proclaimed “Five seconds left in the game. Do you believe in miracles? YES!”
